Indicative annual fees are calculated on the basis of two full-time semesters only. Actual annual fees may vary in accordance with your choices of majors and electives and whether you study in Summer Semester. Tuition fees are indexed each year. The indexation rate is fixed 18 months in advance of a particular academic year thereby allowing you to plan your finances ahead of time. The University's intent is that fee rate increases will be kept to a minimum and that indexation rates will remain stable wherever possible. Since 2007 the indexation rate has remained at or less than 4%.

Why study the Master of Regional Development?
Regional development is the study of regions and processes of regional change. The postgraduate programs in regional development encourage the creation of tools, methods and theories of regional analysis, from concepts and techniques of component disciplines such as economics; geography; government; sociology; engineering; agriculture; regional and town planning; and environmental science. Graduates possess a theoretical and applied knowledge of regional, political and planning issues, allowing work in central government, regional organisations, private consultancies, or as a prelude to higher degree studies.

What you can do with a Master of Regional Development
Careers
Graduates of this program find employment in local government and regional development organisations in both the public and private sectors.
While this degree may be accredited by an official industry accreditation body in Australia, completion of the degree may not result in graduates receiving automatic accreditation. Please contact the relevant registration body for details of any conditions for accreditation.

To complete the Master of Regional Development
To complete the Master of Regional Development, a student must complete a requisite number of courses chosen from the course list and according to the Rules for the program.
Students should be aware of the University of Queensland rules, particularly the General Award Rules, which govern the conduct of UQ programs. Students will find a link to the General Award Rules, and other University rules, on the University Rules page.
A student is required to obtain #24 from the MRegDev list comprising -
- (a) #10 from part A; and
- (b) #10 from part B or part C or a combination of both; and
- (c) #4 from part D
