Why study the Bachelor of Architectural Design (Honours)?
Architectural Design is a non-professional degree in the academic study of architecture and the built environment. The program includes the possibility of interrelating the study of architecture and other disciplines. Students are provided with the opportunity to conduct in-depth study in an area of choice, demanding literature search, application of research methodology and evidence of knowledge acquired through a written thesis.
What you can study
The aim of the program is to equip the student with special skills for the critical analysis of architecture or related disciplines, thus laying a foundation for Masters and PhD studies and contributing to architectural scholarship.

To complete the Bachelor of Architectural Design (Honours)
To complete the Bachelor of Architectural Design (Honours), a student must complete a requisite number of courses chosen from the course list and according to the Rules for the program.
Students should be aware of the University of Queensland rules, particularly the General Award Rules, which govern the conduct of UQ programs. Students will find a link to the General Award Rules, and other University rules, on the University Rules page.
A student is required to obtain #16 from part H of the BArchDes List including a #4 honours thesis, research topics and advanced studies in architecture-related topics. Refer to BArchDes rules for further information.
