Why study Rural and Remote Nursing?

The Graduate Certificate in Nursing (Rural and Remote) will assist the student to apply an advanced level of knowledge and skills in a rural and remote health care setting. The student will develop an understanding of the economic, political and socio-economic factors which influence the delivery of health care within rural and remote contexts. They will also examine the epidemiology and management of specific health issues prevalent in rural and remote communities and the nursing and collaborative practice approaches required to provide evidence based health care in these settings.

Opportunity also exists for students to undertake an elective subject in an area that will enhance their knowledge and skills in specialty practice or fulfil a professional interest.
