Why study Indigenous Health?
This field of study produces graduates with a broad understanding of health and illness of Indigenous Australia, and capacity to manage effective public health solutions in a culturally and socially appropriate way. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are particularly encouraged to apply. Graduates have the knowledge and skills to investigate and analyse Indigenous health needs; interpret policy; describe the major health issues in Indigenous Australia; operate effectively within an environment of changing social, economic and political circumstances; manage effective public health solutions through improved service delivery; plan, implement and evaluate health interventions; and conduct meaningful research, sensitive to community needs and protocols. All fields of study are a mixture of internal and external delivery. All core courses are offered internally and externally. If a student wishes to complete the program either entirely by internal or external delivery the choice of courses is more limited. Summer Semester entry not available for international students.
