Why study Food Science and Technology?
Food Science and Technology concerns the technical issues associated with the handling, processing and storage of foods. These include microbiological issues related to both spoilage and safety of foods, the chemistry of foods in terms of composition and changes that occurs during processing and storage, sensory and physical assessment of foods, methods of preserving, processing and packaging foods, development of new food products, as well as the management of food quality and regulatory issues related to food quality and safety.
