Why study Criminology?

The criminology program at The University of Queensland can be distinguished by its focus on the public policy implications of crime in a way that is both theoretically informed and methodologically rigorous. Students undertaking a major in criminology at UQ become highly trained in social research methods and critical thinking and learn to examine crime and its regulation within the context of social, economic and political shifts in contemporary society.
