| Adam Pollard with Mohan, a white tiger |
Bachelor of Environmental Management
Trained by crocodile hunter Steve Irwin, at 26 Adam is one of the country's youngest tiger handlers.
In 2002, he volunteered at Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast. He learned how to read bubbles and swirl marks in murky waters to pin point a crocodile's movements.
"It was a real fantastic eye opener into the park, the operations of a zoo and a wildlife organisation," he said.
After a year at Australia Zoo, he moved to Dreamworld's Australian Wildlife Experience to look after the snakes and crocodiles, including a monster crocodile known as Goliath.
He then landed his current job at Dreamworld's Tiger Island. A normal day for Adam involves interacting with the big cats, two demonstrations and wildlife education and promotion.
Adam even has his own chuff - a friendly call that sounds like repeatedly blowing your nose.
"Every day, I'm rewarded with working around such magnificent animals," he said.
"I'm awestruck by the majestic attitude these guys have."
