Graeme Kan is an Event Coordination Manager, Suncorp Stadium.

“My responsibilities include managing traffic and transport, ticketing, and on-field activities for Queensland’s newest stadium," he said. 

A 2004 graduate, Graeme completed majors in Leisure and Recreation Management and Event Management at UQ Ipswich.

Suncorp Stadium is a 52,500-seat, world-class, state-of-the-art sports venue with a capacity for a range of uses including local and international rugby league, rugby tests, soccer and premier events such as the State of Origin Series and the Rugby World Cup.

"Game days and nights have a great energy – everyone from all parts of the Stadium is on and lending a hand,” he said. 

He said he chose to study the Bachelor of Business at UQ because of the wide variety of study options available and the reputation the University had in the community.

He said the program provided him with a solid foundation of core business skills and gave him an opportunity for practical experience.

“The ability to get involved in running actual events and facilities was beneficial. Throughout the program, there is a certain level of assessment which relies on group activities. Working with others in a controlled environment prepares you for working in similar environments in industry and with different personalities, styles of work and work ethics,” he said.
