“I chose to study in Australia as I’d heard about the great experience of studying in a multicultural country that is different from everything I know and I wanted to give it a try," she said.
"The best aspects about studying at UQ are the opportunity to live, talk and make friends with people from all the continents of the world, the kindness and knowledge of teachers and the environment.
"I would like to eventually work with a human rights or international law organisation and the program, along with the international experience, will be a plus in my curriculum vitae.
"Brisbane is a safe and well-planned city which allows students to enjoy a sport-oriented and natural lifestyle close to the beach. The river and transport are very good – you are close to all you need.
"At first it was hard to understand Australians speaking a different kind of English but it was also a lot of fun. Making friends is so easy, thanks to the activities that UQ organise in Orientation Week.
"The best thing about Australia is the relaxation you experience when you don’t have to live in a constant hurry and the fact that so many people like to exercise.
"My advice to prospective overseas students would be to try to watch some films or music from Australia so you can get used to the pronunciation and give yourself plenty of time to look for accommodation before classes begin.”
