“The best thing about studying at UQ is that it has a huge array of students studying an array of disciplines including thousands of international students. It’s easy to find people who are in similar situations as you with similar interests. The proximity to downtown Brisbane, nightlife, and the beaches is amazing as well.”

“There is definitely practical hands-on experience in my program. The anatomy practical I’m currently in is the most hands on and intuitive practical/lab I’ve had in my three years studying at university. We get to explore the human body by looking at real skeletons, plastinated specimens, and wet specimens including hearts, brains, and muscles. This learning is both engaging and practical to real life.”

“Studying in Australia has helped me to learn for the sake of actually learning, not just to get a grade. I think that is important as I move on to graduate level studies. Also, I’ve taken on a mindset of travel, travel, and travel some more. I feel spoiled with all the options of places to go and activities to partake in Australia. I think this will help me keep a nice balance between work and play.”

“Socially, I joined a touch rugby league team which has been a lot of fun for someone from the states who has never played rugby before. I also do a spinning/cycling class at the gym a few times a week. Both have helped me to stay fit and meet people. The best thing about Australia life is that when it is winter back home it is summer here and I can tell all my friends how nice and warm the beach is. And when it is winter here, it’s really not that cold so you can still go to the beach.”
