Krystle Bell

Back home in the U.S, Krystle is completing her studies in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Pennsylvania State University and she believes that undertaking courses in Marine Biology at UQ will help her diversify her areas of expertise and allow her to apply this knowledge to a variety of fields.

"I chose to study in Australia because I love the ocean and I wanted to go to a place where I could see all the wonders the ocean has to offer, and that place is obviously Australia. I choose to study at UQ because it has the best Marine Studies program in Australia.

“The best things about my courses at UQ are the field trips. They have amazing field trips to Heron Island and Moreton Bay that are excellent. We go to research labs and collect samples to do research on and we also go out into the field and go snorkelling and diving.”

When asked about her experience living in Australia, Krystle counts the laid-back attitude as one of the things she enjoys the most. She does miss her family and friends however she has been able to make plenty of new friends and is glad she came to Australia.

“My advice to people from other countries coming to UQ to study is that UQ is an excellent university with great people, a wide variety of courses, a great deal of opportunities, and something here for everyone to enjoy".
