“I chose to study in Australia and UQ because Australia appealed to me, first of all since I had never been here before (it is practically on the other side of the world) and I thought it would be great opportunity to see as much of the country as possible, experience the Australian culture and know what it is like to study in a different environment. UQ looked really good, since the website already provided lots of information and it seemed very open to international students. Also the fact that Brisbane is at the East Coast and that the weather is quite good played a role in my decision.

“I definitely think that my studies will help me to get a job. Especially since I have done a semester abroad, because I think this is a big plus when you apply for a job. Studying abroad makes you more flexible and open-minded to new things. These are definitely skills that will help you in your future career.

“So far, I really enjoy living in Australia. People are very friendly and willing to help, especially when they hear you are from overseas.

“Studying at UQ as an international student is a very inspiring experience. It is good to see how things go at another university, in a different country. So far, people at UQ (both staff and students) have been really nice to me and the courses that I take are very interesting. Of course I am still getting used to how everything works here and finding my way on the enormous campus, but there are always people willing to help or explain things.”
