“I choose to Study Abroad in Australia because I always wanted to come and visit this huge country located on the other side of the world. We, Europeans, know little about Australia except kangaroos, koalas and surfers, so I really wanted to see it and get to know Australian culture and customs myself.

“In my courses I have a lot of practical work, which I think is very interesting to do after studying the theory. I have a project in acoustics in which I have to study some specific aspect of the theory and find and carry out an experiment myself. It makes me feel independent and free to do whatever I want to make this project work.

“What social activities have I done since arriving in Australia? I joined many associations, first to be involved in some activities and above all to meet people. I joined UQdance to learn Latino dancing, and a Chinese Christian association. I made many friends here, especially international students. It is very easy to take the first step towards people. Usually I am very shy but not here. I really like going to talk to people even if I hardly know them.”
