‘I chose to study in Australia because it is an amazing country with so much variety. I chose to study specifically at UQ because it had a great reputation and looked fantastic on the website and in brochures. When I visited the university my feelings were confirmed. The atmosphere made me feel at home.
‘The best thing about my program at UQ is that I got the chance to meet people from all over the world and hear so many different experiences and business point of views. It really helped my international business major. The various assignments we have to do as part of our assessment really helps to develop your research and understanding skills. You really need to be devoted to your work in order to get good grades, which kept me motivated and work extra hard.
‘I have made many friends from all over the world and many Australians as well. I have found friendships for life, and hope to travel all over the world to go visit many of them. Australia is a beautiful country that has so much to offer: the nature, the people, and the multicultural community.
‘During my time in Australia I have had the chance to travel a lot and see so much! I have also actively participated in many of the sports offered by UQ. For international students there are also special activities to meet other international students and see more of Brisbane and Queensland.’
Elsbeth’s advice to other international student is that ‘If you get the opportunity to study at UQ I’d definitely recommend it. It has been one of the best experiences of my life. UQ is a great university and Brisbane is a wonderful city with great fellow students to meet.’
