UQ Ipswich offers students a unique learning environment, combining a tradition of quality education with a new and dynamic campus.

Only 45 minutes drive from UQ St Lucia, UQ Ipswich is the University’s newest campus having opened for teaching in February 1999.

Students benefit from a purpose-designed teaching space utilising the latest technology in teaching, course delivery and research infrastructure. UQ Ipswich delivers a modern suite of tailored and relevant programs, equipping graduates for lasting careers in a variety of professions.

The campus boasts a wealth of dedicated, state-of-the-art learning facilities. These include Building 8, which merges traditional library and student services with innovative technology to advance learning and research. UQ Ipswich’s student/computer ratio places it at the forefront of Australian tertiary education.

At this smaller campus, students enjoy greater access to teaching staff while teaching spaces enhance learning, with seminar and group learning rooms promoting personal interaction with staff and other students. Students enjoy a range of support, amenity, and recreational services, including a bookshop, cafés, a multipurpose court for playing tennis, basketball and netball, a sporting oval and a cardiogymnasium.

Scholarships for domestic and full degree international students
Students also have access to a range of campus-specific and other scholarships and prizes to provide financial assistance with their study. These scholarships range from $500 to $5000 on an annual basis. Please note: These scholarships are not available to Study Abroad students

Ipswich city
Home to 145,000 residents, Ipswich is known as Australia’s heritage city and is part of one of the fastest-growing regions in Australia. Ipswich offers heritage trails, four-wheel-driving, bushwalking, canoeing, shopping and country markets.

In 2007, Ipswich won the international award for Liveable Communities for cities with a population of 75,000 to 200,000.

City facilities include an inner-city mall, art galleries, parks and gardens, a cultural centre, restaurants and coffee shops, supermarkets, banks, doctors’ surgeries, hospitals, an IT-based public library, golf courses and showgrounds.

Transport
A University-operated bus service runs four times each weekday during semester from the St Lucia campus to UQ Ipswich, then UQ Gatton and return. Train and bus timetables for travel to the campus are coordinated. Passengers can buy combined rail/bus tickets enabling travel on both Queensland Rail and the local bus service, which has a stop at the Ipswich campus. Parking on campus is available for $1.30 per day.
