International study opportunities

The UQ Abroad program offers students the incredible experience of studying overseas for up to one year on exchange, while gaining credit toward their UQ degree.

The program is an ideal way to combine study and travel. In addition to the adventure of discovering a new culture first-hand, or improving a foreign language, students broaden their career and academic opportunities and gain a different perspective on their studies. Study overseas is highly rewarding and exciting, helping students build confidence, increase self-awareness and establish a worldwide network of friendships.

The University of Queensland has exchange agreements with more than 100 universities in over 25 countries. UQ Abroad allows UQ students to study overseas as an exchange student for one or two semesters as part of their degrees.

Under the exchange, tuition fees at the host university are waived, and students continue to be enrolled and pay compulsory fees at UQ. Students cover their own airfares, accommodation and living costs.
