UQ has two intakes per year for its undergraduate degree programs, the major one at the beginning of the year for first semester, and  a mid-year intake for admission to programs commencing in second semester**.

If you are not a current Australian Year 12 school-leaver, you can apply to QTAC by lodging:

  • an application via QTAC's Apply by Web service on the QTAC website.
  • a written application by using a QTAC Tertiary Study Application form *

Applicants will be asked to indicate any previous study they have undertaken. It is important that all prior studies are listed - especially Year 12 (if completed) and any subsequent study (eg at another University or TAFE institute.)  If applicants believe their work experience is relevant to their application, they should provide detailed documentation.

Applicants will be asked to choose up to six different preferences and advice is available from QTAC on how to order these preferences.

Applicants should ensure they use the correct QTAC code for each program - the QTAC Guide - Tertiary Courses, produced by QTAC and available from most newsagencies or from QTAC, contains a full list of these codes. This information is also available on the QTAC website.

For details of programs offered by UQ, use the Program search facility to find a program. **

*For mid-year admission, applications may only be submitted online via QTAC's website, www.qtac.edu.au.
**Not all of UQ's undergraduate programs are offered in the mid-year admissions period.
