Short courses, available to the broader community, are primarily offered by:

  • The Institute of Continuing and TESOL Education (ICTE-UQ) offers a range of professional development/continuing education courses open to enrolments from individuals as well as groups from corporate, government and community organisations. Courses include Leadership and Management Skills, Human Resources Management, Conflict Resolution and Corporate Communications as well as Certificate IV and Diploma courses in Training and Assessment and Project Management. The Institute also has significant experience in the development of customised professional development and continuing education programs for small and large groups.
  • The Institute of Modern Languages (IML) which offers courses in over 30 languages including Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, modern Greek, modern Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Thai. 
  • Information Technology Services (formerly the Prentice Centre), which conducts short courses in selected aspects of computing and information processing, including use of popular computer packages and other facilities supported by the Centre.

Ask I.T. provides free computer support and training to all students of The University of Queensland including courses in Microsoft Office and other popular applications and software tools.
