Applying for dual degree programs (International applicants currently studying Year 12 in Australia)
Students enrolling in a dual program at UQ must satisfy course prerequisites, English language requirements and meet the entry requirements for both programs.
All dual degree programs commence in first semester each year with selected programs being available for commencement in second semester. To check if the program you wish to study is available for second semester (mid-year) entry please consult the Courses and Programs website.
To apply for a dual degree program, students should follow the steps for applying as prescribed for a current International Year 12 student except when it comes to indicating their program preference.
In the QTAC Guide - Tertiary Courses (available mid-year for the following year intake) students should read the entries for the programs they intend to combine. The entries will indicate which program they should apply for. The QTAC code for the appropriate program should be listed as one of the student's preferences.
If no dual program code is available once offered a place in your preferred program, students can lodge an internal application through UQ to change to a dual program (using mySI-net). The application will be assessed to check if the entry requirements including the subject pre-requisites and minimum required entry score have been met.
Students wishing to apply for the Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Medicine must complete a two stage process:
Students must:
- Submit an application to Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) using the following QTAC codes:
- Science (731001)
- Health Sciences (729002)
- Arts (707001).
- Lodge a UQ application with the International Admissions Section of The University of Queensland indicating which of the three dual degree programs is preferred eg. Science/MBBS; Health Science/MBBS; Arts/MBBS.
Achieve the minimum required scores in either the Undergraduate Medicine & Health Sciences Admissions Test (UMAT) OR International Student Admissions Test (ISAT).
