The student contribution amount (SCA) for Commonwealth supported students varies depending upon the discipline category (teaching matter) of the course(s) you enrol in, and when you commenced your program. Courses are grouped into four contribution bands according to discipline.

All Commonwealth supported students must submit a ‘Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP’ form. The form is available online via students’ ‘Financial’ link on their mySI-net home page.

Australian citizens and holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas can provide their tax file number and obtain a HECS-HELP loan to defer payment of their SCA, or can select the up front payment option and receive a 10% discount.

If you obtain a HECS-HELP loan, you can make a partial payment of $500 or more to the University by the relevant census date and receive a 10% discount on the payment amount.

New Zealand citizens and all other Australian permanent residents must pay their SCA up-front without a discountdiscount – they cannot obtain a HECS-HELP loan.

If you know the courses you wish to study, you can use the to estimate your SCA.
