Course description
This course explores a number of key debates in social work about the nature and impact of globalisation on social work practice around the world. The course provides an introduction to the notion of globalisation and the various social, cultural, economic and political features of it. Using a range of case studies, you will develop knowledge about a range of social problems exacerbated by globalisation processes. These include: global poverty, global mental health, migration and people movements, human rights and ICT (Information Communication Technology). This course examines social work practice interventions which address globalisation processes at the local and/or global level.
