Course description

The course will cover the principles of design of controlled experiments, including replication, blocking, reduction of experimental error. Analysis of variance (ANOVA),factorial designs, Latin Square, Split plot, Split-Split-Plot. Other topics may include repeated measures, introductory longitudinal analysis, and response surface models. Multivariate regression methods. Practical issues such as missing values and imputation may be covered. Introduction to statistical packages and computer exercises may be given in one of several software Minitab (v16, Minitab Inc, Chicago) or GenStat (v12, VSN Inc, Reading) or SAS (SAS Institute, Cary, NC). Other statistical software may be used in specific examples for demonstration purposes.
