Course description
This course provides students with basic training in preparation and planning independent research. Students are required to formulate a research question, undertake a literature review relevant to the question and design a piece of research feasible for implementation in one semester of study, with the potential to contribute to an answer to the research question. Students receive some intensive training in research design and participate in fortnightly group supervision. They also have access to a tutor who can provide advice from time to time, as required. It is however expected that the student will demonstrate capacity to work independently.
