Course description
PLAN7125 no longer offered from 2017 onwards
The aim of this course is to enable students to develop skills in the preparation of local plans. It requires students to draw on skills and knowledge already gained in other courses in the program to produce a plan for a local area. The plan is developed in two stages. In the first stage, the planning constraints and potential of the area are analysed, and used to produce a planning vision. In the second stage, a local plan to implement the vision is developed, incorporating desired environmental outcomes and planning and development controls. The course incorporates examples and practice from contemporary local planning, and studio-based learning.
