Course description
This course introduces students to the design dimension of urban planning (urban design), in particular the concepts & principles that organize urban spatial components and human activity. A key concentration is the analysis of the structure, function and processes that shape contemporary cities. Students will explore the elements constituting urban form, analysing aesthetic, socio-cultural, ecological & economic factors, which impact upon urban design practice & policy making.
