Course description

This course provides advanced training & further develops skills in oral health therapy, building on ORAL2080 and all previous knowledge and skills. It comprises integration of dental hygiene practice & dental therapy practice. It focuses on providing diverse clinical experience to enhance knowledge & skills in oral health therapy & attain competence in clinical, behavioural, social & professional aspects. Emphasis is placed on the ability to critically reflect & evaluate on clinical practice & outcomes of care provided and to work as collaborative members of the dental team within the health sciences context. This course provides clinical experience in the practice of Oral Health Therapy (dental hygiene & dental therapy) as regulated by the Dental Board of Australia. Students graduating from this course must demonstrate `Professional attributes and competencies¿ as prescribed by the Australian Dental Council document.
