Course description

The course comprises the music therapy clinical practice experience for Semester 3 of the program. It involves a 25 day (or the equivalent of 200 hours) clinical placement at an allocated facility under the guidance of an experienced registered music therapist. The focus of this third clinical placement is on developing skills in all aspects of music therapy program delivery. Students should use this course to refine their skills in the areas of assessment, devising programs, implenting programs, evaluating and modiftying programs, reporting on the results of programs and writing up the music therapy process in a formal report. They should focus also on beginning to develop more independent practitioner skills.
