Course description
Metric spaces: elements of topology; compactness; completeness; contraction mapping principle; theorems on continuity & compactness. Normed, Banach & Hilbert spaces: strong & weak convergence; orthogonal systems; orthogonal complements; projection theorem, linear functionals, Riesz representation theorem. General topological spaces.
