Course description

This course is not offered in 2012. This course is an advanced level examination, analysis and critique of how the mediation process can be adapted and utilized to resolve outstanding claims and defences arising out of the Native Title legislation at Federal and State level. It incorporates a study of the constraints and issues of statutory and case law and lessons from resolved and unresolved claims. The course is designed to enable students to better utilize mediation and negotiation to achieve meaningful resolution in complex, multi-party, value laden legal disputes.
