Course description

This course is undertaken as a one-week field trip on Heron Island, on the southern Great Barrier Reef, 80 km northeast of Gladstone, with lecture sessions, briefings, workshops and examination prior to and following the field trip. The course builds on, and applies, undergraduate studies of climatology, geomorphology, biogeography, remote sensing, resource management and planning, coastal processes & management undertaken in the School. The principle teaching mode is lectures and supervised and independent (peer collaboration) field work and workshops. Additional fees payable. Students who apply will be contacted by the course coordinator in O-week and informed whether they have been successful in obtaining a place in this course. There is a quota of ~25 students.
