The ultrasonic anatomy for both transthoracic and transoesophageal imaging will be detailed along with comprehensive study protocols for both modalities. Techniques to optimise imaging will be covered including the use of contrast. Assessment of ventricular function is described and a basic introduction to valvular assessment will be given.
