Course description

This course aims to introduce students to the various computer assisted language learning (CALL) tasks used in teaching Chinese as a second language. It is designed to help them learn to evaluate the potentials and constraints of technology-enhanced learning (and teaching) for Chinese as a second language. It offers students the opportunity to explore different pedagogies, technologies and language skills and learning approaches in order to extend their own repertoire of language learning strategies as well as their digital literacies around language learning. In doing so it aims to help students gain pedagogical intelligence and effective digital practices that will help them in their future learning and teaching endeavours.
