Course description
The course introduces the basic foundations of chemistry, and includes those aspects of organic and inorganic chemistry that underpin agricultural and biological sciences, including applied chemical analysis. In addition, this course explores some important concepts of structural and mechanistic organic chemistry and illustrates these concepts using examples taken from the living world. Laboratory skills will be developed through gaining experience in various laboratory techniques, while the ability to collect, analyse and organise information and ideas, and work and learn independently will be developed.
