Course description
A survey of the major achievements of Roman visual arts & architecture & the influences that helped to shape these achievements. The following topics will be treated in detail: the buildings & monuments of the city of Rome, including temples, baths, fora, sculpture & mosaics, painting, with particular reference to Roman attitudes to the arts. Study of relevant artefacts in Antiquities Museum. This course may not run if there are fewer than 20 enrolments.
