Interpretation Rules

The following new rules commence from 1 January 1997 —

1. A reference in the University’s rules to the person listed in column A will be read as a reference to the person listed opposite in Column B.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor (External Affairs)	Director of Communications or Director of International Programs as appropriate.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Gatton College) or Director (Gatton College)	Executive Dean of Natural Resources, Agriculture and Veterinary Science or Executive Dean of Business, Economics and Law as appropriate.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Health Sciences)	Executive Dean of Health Sciences
Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Humanities)	Executive Dean of Arts or Executive Dean of Business, Economics and Law as appropriate.

2. A reference in the University’s rules to —

(a) a Faculty; or

(b) the Executive Dean of a Faculty; or

(c) the Board of a Faculty, listed in column A is to be read as a corresponding reference to —

(a) the Faculty; or

(b) the Executive Dean of the Faculty; or

(c) the Board of the Faculty, listed opposite in Column B.

3. In the University Rules, a decision to be made by a Faculty Board will be made by the Executive Dean of the relevant faculty.
