These workshops are free to students of UQ.

Tertiary Writing Skills

Saturday 27 February, 9:30am-1pm
Social Sciences Building (#24), Room S402

This half-day programme aims to help you cope with the demands of academic writing. Attend this programme if you missed O-week sessions related to writing and you’d like to understand more about:

  • structure
  • cohesion and clarity in academic writing
  • a critical approach to writing assignments
  • referencing, and
  • avoiding plagiarism.

Registration is required.

Preparing for Success at University

Saturday 5 March, 9:30am-1pm
Prentice Building (#42), Room 212

This half-day preparation course will assist you to develop the necessary skills and strategies needed to succeed at uni.

Topics covered include:

  • study and time management
  • reading and note-making
  • study techniques, and
  • making the most out of your lectures and tutorials. 

Attend this program if you missed O-week sessions or the JSAPP.
