UQ-Link program

What is the UQ-Link program?

The UQ-Link Program aims to provide equitable access to and support for higher education for students who have experienced educational disadvantage as a result of financial hardship.

At the University of Queensland, we realise that if you are facing financial hardship you may not reach your full academic potential in Years 11 and 12 or at TAFE and may therefore find it harder when competing for University places.

The UQ-Link program encourages you to consider your tertiary study options and provides an extensive range of services across all three UQ campuses- from financial assistance, to special entry, to assistance settling into university life.

Who is eligible to apply for this program?

For entry to UQ via the UQ-Link program, you must be from a low-income family. Applications are open to Australian citizens or Australian Permanent Residents (including holders of Permanent Humanitarian Visas) who are currently completing Year 12, Full-time Senior External Examinations or a Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation (Full-time).

If you are already a UQ student you are not eligible to apply to the UQ-Link program.

Can I obtain any financial assistance?

UQ-Link students can apply for a range of UQ undergraduate equity scholarships that are specifically for students who have financial hardship. These include Commonwealth Scholarships, UQ-Link Residential Support Scholarship, and Academic Scholarships (UQ Excellence Scholarships and UQ Merit Scholarships). The UQ-Link Residential Support Scholarship is only available to UQ-Link students in their first year of study.
