Up to 40% of recruiters admit they take note of potential candidates met at on-campus presentations. These events are the perfect opportunity to discover Industry direction, company culture and the tricks of the trade for applications, plus make a solid first impression through networking with the same staff that recruit graduates.
Employers meet on campus to present to students in a seminar style with Q&A’s followed by networking. These events are usually conducted in the Conference Room of the Social Science Library or the Holt Room in the UQ Union Complex. All students (the earlier in your degree, the better!) are welcome to attend these information sessions which cover:
Company recruitment procedures
Application/Interview tips and hints
Strategic direction of company and its values
Professional development and future opportunities
Industry trends and skill requirements
What they are looking for from you
