Crisis appointments to see a counsellor can generally be organised in a 24 hour period but it is important that you inform reception staff that this is what you require.

If you need medical attention, you may also consider arranging an appointment with your GP or at the Student Health Service.

Counselling is free to enrolled students and the sessions run for 50 minutes.

Partners, friends and family can be included in the counselling sessions if you and the counsellor agree that this would be helpful.

If you are unable to attend in person you can also make a time to speak to a counsellor by phone.

NB: The Counselling Service runs during vacations. The Service is closed on Public Holidays and when the University is not open (e.g. over the Christmas Period).

Please contact us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment.
