**If courses fill up, priority will be given to Summer Semester lecturers**

This is a practical, hands-on training course demonstrating the differences between the current version of Blackboard and the new Blackboard 9. It will provide participants with a good understanding of what changes have occurred to the interface and how to use some of the new features in your Blackboard course. This course is suitable for confident Blackboard users. Those who will be teaching or maintaining a Summer Semester Blackboard course will be given priority.

This course will enable participants to:

1. Understand the main differences between Blackboard v8 and v9
2. Use the new interface to add/make changes to the Course Menu
3. Practice adding/editing content such as announcements, resources etc.
4. Gain an overview of changes to Blackboard tools such as Groups

All courses start promptly at the advertised time. Please be courteous to your presenter and your fellow participants by arriving for your course prior to the advertised starting time. In some courses entry may be denied after the program has commenced. Unless otherwise stated participants should be present for the whole duration of the course in order to achieve course completion.  Because most courses are oversubscribed, please advise us if you are unable to attend courses for which you are enrolled. Non-attendance without notification may result in your supervisor being contacted.

As well as seeking participants' feedback at the end of each course the University Staff Development Committee (USDC) may seek feedback from supervisors to gauge the benefit of staff development courses.

Please forward all enquiries to the Staff Development Officer staffdev@tedi.uq.edu.au.
