Award Title
School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Excellence in Research Award

Aims
To foster and reward excellence in research in the School.

Eligibility
All staff of the School appointed at 0.5 of an appointment or higher will be eligible for this award.

Criteria
The award will be based on research performance calculated using the University guidelines and funding formula. The current funding formula is:

Successful grants ($ value) 35%
Publications (bibliographic record) 10%
Completed RHD Candidates 30%
Enrolled RHD Candidates 25%

Process
All staff in the School appointed at 0.5 of an appointment or higher will be automatically considered for the Award, unless they notify the Secretary of the School Research and Postgraduate Studies Committee by 31 October 2008 that they do not wish to be considered for the Award.

The dollar value of the grants, the number of points for publications, the number of Research Higher Degree student completions and the number of enrolled Research Higher Degree candidates will be entered into the formula. In the instance that two staff members have equal results, two awards of equal value will be given.

Award entitlement
Award winners will receive a certificate with the Award that will be presented at a significant School event (e.g. Postgraduate Research Day). Award winners are also eligible to receive $500 towards the cost of presenting at a conference held within Australia and $1000 toward a conference at which they present overseas.
