Project Outline: Although an essential nutrient for plant growth, at excessive levels copper may be toxic to vegetation.  Current heavy metal risk assessment procedures are often based on total metal content, which has little correlation with plant uptake.  This project aims to develop accurate methods for copper bioavailability assessments in contaminated waters.
