Profile

The Soils and Land Resources group contributes to the School of Land and Food Sciences' mission by performing teaching, scholarship and research of the highest international standard within Soil Science and its related disciplines, with an emphasis on tropical and subtropical soils.
 
Teaching and Learning Aims
  • to teach undergraduate students the fundamental principles and applications of Soil Science,
  • to teach postgraduate students the skills needed to conduct basic and applied research in tropical and subtropical Soil Science, and
  • to prepare students for careers in Soil Science and related environmental disciplines.
Research Aims
  • to advance knowledge of tropical and subtropical Soil Science and related disciplines,
  • to develop new technologies to sustain environmentally sound and profitable production systems,
  • to manage wisely our soil resources.

Soils and Land Resources is one of the largest groups in the School of Land and Food Sciences, which is one of five schools in the Faculty of Natural Resources, Agriculture and Veterinary Science.
