-- with Special Guest Speakers
This forum will look at the history, aims and role of the Online Museum, and the implications for the physical museum. We will look at where they came from, and where they might be going, as well as the way they are set up (emulating real galleries vs unique experiences of their own) and any other issues that may be pertinent from a technical perspective (resolution, navigation, context, design). The implications of the quick-fix, rapid consumption nature of contemporary media on objects that traditionally demand contemplation and time, will also be considered. So if you are interested in where our aesthetic experience is headed, come along to this forum and find out!
