The Student Lifecycle Project (SLP) is an initiative aiming to improve the UQ student experience from recruitment to graduation through to alumni involvement. The project provides the opportunity for UQ to improve how it interacts with students to enhance their experience and improve outcomes for the University.

The project was created after a comprehensive study conducted by the University and Deloitte in 2010, consulting staff and students on all aspects of the student lifecycle. The study identified challenges and opportunities across the student lifecycle at UQ and a number of priority areas were pinpointed.

The SLP team is now implementing recommendations from the study.  A range of projects is underway with a focus on the application and enrolment phase of the lifecycle.

The project team has achieved several results so far including the launch of UQ Nav and Blackboard Mobile Learn. UQ Nav is a mobile map application for UQ campuses and is available on iPhone and android. UQ’s Mobile Learn is a new, free smartphone and iPad app that allows you to access Blackboard course learning materials wherever you are.

The project is of strategic significance to the University and will help maintain UQ’s position as the university of choice for domestic and international students.

In addition to supporting long term relationships with students, project outcomes will be beneficial to you as a UQ staff member improving flexibility, effectiveness and efficiency of UQ systems.
