STOP PRESS ALAA 2007 Congress |
After the ConferenceThe 31st Annual Congress of the Applied Linguistics Association of Australia took place at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia on July 5th-8th . The congress was attended by approximately 200 participants. The program comprised 142 individual papers and six invited colloquia. The congress was once again a very international affair, in keeping with the congress theme, with participants from not only all over Australia, but also from Canada, Chile, China, Germany, Finland, Greece, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, Japan, Macao, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. ALAA presenters are reminded that a number of selected papers will be included in a book on Global Tensions (preliminary title) to be edited by Christina Gitsaki and published by Cambridge Scholars Press.
