Postgraduate qualifications from UQ can provide you with specialised knowledge, give you a significant advantage in the employment market, enable you to upgrade your qualifications, enhance your promotion potential or open the way for a career change.

Below is information to assist with your studies.

Course Selection

Please ensure you follow the correct course list when selecting courses.  If you commenced earlier than the current year you will need to change the year.  Go to the UQ Courses and Programs website and enter the program you are studying, click through and when you reach the page with the program information change the year, to the year you commenced study, at the top right hand side of the program information and hit the change button.

It is important that you either stick with the program list or you apply for a program variation through the correct channels.  This will ensure you get the credits for all your courses and you complete your program in your planned time frame (providing there are no other issues!).  Furthermore, you don't want to waste money on courses that are not worth anything to you.

For electives email the Program Director; state the course you want to do and your reason.  The Program Director will make the final decision. 

To apply for a program variation you should email the Program Director; state the course you are not doing; what course you would like to do and the reason for your decision.  It is the faculty that makes the final decision and will advise you on the outcome.

Ethical Clearance

Postgraduate students conducting research projects as part of COMU7002, COMU7009 or JOUR7888 may need to apply for ethical clearance.
