Hannah Lucas wins Cole Lawson Award
 
Hannah Lucas is the 2011 winner of the prestigious Cole Lawson Scholarship. The winner receives a bursary of $2500, plus an invitation to intern at Cole Lawson, the well known Brisbane communications consultancy. Cole Lawson principal Margaret Lawson thanked the School of Journalism and Communication for its ongoing relationship with the firm, and praised the industry-university engagement.
 
The award was presented to Hannah at an end of year soiree attended by her family and friends, academic and professional staff from the School, and invited guests from the media and communication industries.
 
Hannah Lucas a is high achieving student completing a dual degree in the Bachelor of Communication and Bachelor of Arts program and is a current Dean’s Scholar. In presenting the award, Margaret Lawson praised Hannah’s work ethic, and her commitment to her academic study, while working two part time jobs. She also acknowledged the role of Associate Bernard McKenna, Dr Richard Fitzgerald and Dr John Harrison in promoting the Scholarship.
