I have work commitments on the day the lecture is timetabled and won’t be able to attend any lectures. Can you record all your lectures and upload them on blackboard?

No. Lecturers do not have to supply you with their lecture notes or recordings.

Can I get a pass grade for the course without attending any lectures or tutorials?

Please refer to the School’s Assignment and Assessment Policy.

What can I do when I get an assignment back and I don’t understand why the mark was so low?

Lecturers provide general feedback on assignments in class. If this doesn’t address your concerns, then please seek further individual feedback from the lecturer or your tutor.

You must formally apply to the course coordinator. Information on how to do this is available from the Assignment and Assessment Policy.

I missed my lecture - what did I miss?

Course co-ordinators often post supporting information on Blackboard.

I know we have to upload our assignment to Blackboard or the FTP site, but I can’t make it work, so here it is as an email attachment. Is that OK?

Students should submit their assignments as detailed in the electronic course profile for that specific course. Instruction is provided on how to FTP or upload to Blackboard.

How should I go about choosing elective courses?

Electives enable a student to personalise their degree and make it unique to them. The electives courses can be in any area of study other than their major area of study, i.e. journalism students should not be taking journalism courses as electives. They will be in breach of the program rules if they do (refer www.uq.edu.au/study).
