The University of Queensland Staff and Graduates Club, on Staff House Road opposite the Credit Union, provides licensed facilities for members and their guests. Honorary membership is available to visiting Australian and international academics. Wordsmiths – The Writer's Café next to the University Bookshop serves coffee and light food in a garden setting. It is also a venue for literary launches and readings.

30/40 Café & Bar – 30/40 Café (sometimes referred to as 'The Tennis Club' is located at the UQ Tennis Centre. The café provides a relaxed alfresco atmosphere for a quick coffee break, refreshment, dining experience or takeaway. 30/40 Café is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm and Wednesday until 8pm during the semester and 9am to 2pm during semester break. 30/40 Café also offers a catering service onsite, Monday to Sunday to service functions large or small. Genies is a cafe restaurant in the Queensland Bioscience Precinct. It provides table service or takeaway, and can cater for functions of any size, any day or evening. Cafe Grinders, is an outdoor café, which also caters to surrounding buildings. Situated on level 2 of the Sir James Foots Building Café Grinders offers breakfast, light meals, salad, sushi, sweets and coffee. Grinders is licensed to sell alcohol on Thursdays from 3-8pm.
